Savvi just turned 7 months old. Her bottom two teeth are coming in and she is crawling all over the place. When I’m not working she keeps me so busy. I have no idea how I’ve been balancing school, let alone writing with this busybody.
As I focus on my education I think of hers too and I know it’s never too early to get kids interested in reading. School is a long way off, but I can’t help but think about her education.
Getting her into the habit of reading is essential to her learning. It may be soon but I think establishing an early reading habit is important to her future.
She’s heard more stories about business management and healthcare compliance than anyone her age should. l I do try to make them sound fun. I read my school books to her so that I can study and she hears my voice.
Early reading habits will have a lasting impression. Reading is so important and fun to me. I have read countless books so far, and there are millions more I cannot wait to read. As a Mom I get to show my baby how great reading is. It’s never too early or late to get kids reading.
She’s too little to understand what we’re doing but I know it’s important so I still do it. She’s so busy exploring the world around her that I can’t get her to sit through a book, but she knows what they are. The image above she was too happy to sit with her book on the floor.
I look forward to the day she asks me to read her a bedtime story. I am working on a list of books to add to her library. I still have most of Fanci’s books from when she was a baby so that is a good start.
