Looking over the past year can give you a lot of insight. You can see where you grew as a person and discover areas where more focus is needed. Normally as the year winds down I do a review. I look at different areas of my life and see where I can make adjustments.
I have different periods throughout the year where I analyze progress and make any needed adjustments. This is something that you can use in your life too. Checking in with yourself periodically can keep you on track to meet your goals and it really helps you connect with yourself. Try using review questions to go a little deeper.
These questions are asked on a yearly, quarterly, monthly, semi-annually, weekly…whatever time frame is best for you.
I like quarterly reviews, one around my birthday, and a year-end review. I try to keep my answers brief lately. When I first started I went deeper and wrote a lot.
End of Year Review 2015
What Goals Did I Achieve?
I launched my blog and business! I have been blogging off and on for years. I had an art blog where I showcased my artwork, a rant blog, a spiritual journey blog…I am certain those aren’t the only ones I’ve had. Writing comes natural to me and I began blogging as soon as it emerged online. Last year I finally caught up to the changes that have taken place in the blogosphere since I last blogged. I have learned so much about blogging this past year. More than I realized until I sat down and made a list of all the things I’ve learned. To test my knowledge I decided to add a category to my site that is all about blogging. I’m a firm believer in each one teach one. Writing about what I know helps others and helps me too.
One of my goals was to make sure I only had positive people around me. I believe that the people around us have a big influence on us, including our success. People that are not positive or able to add value to my life through their friendship had to go. Whenever I do a review I start by analyzing my relationships. You will be amazed at how much eliminating a person can improve your life.
What Am I Most Proud Of?
Becoming a Mom for the 2nd time. Having my daughter Savvi was the highlight of my year. I could write a book about that! Seeing her grow and develop has been such an experience. I learn so much from life about her. Seeing things through the eyes of a baby will give you a fresh perspective on life. Closer to the end of the year I noticed how much I wrote about inspiration on my blog. I knew that I wanted to make an impact and decided that I can use my creativity and passion to help others by coaching.
What Didn’t Go According to Plan?
The only thing that caused a lot of stress was my relationship. That is a long and complicated story that I will share more about once everything is resolved, but this has definitely been the one thing that threw everything off! I can say that this situation made me stronger. There is such a lesson and blessing tangled up in this craziness.
What Do I Need to Do More Of?
Clients to help! I am ready to transform lives and make people smile!
Time! Working, starting a business, raising girls, and finishing the last year of my Business degree. I would really love more time to just relax and enjoy all my hard work.
Travel. We did travel more this year and it is something that I want to increase even more.
Friends in the blogging/business world. Connecting with other entrepreneurs that understand the struggle.
What Do I Need Less Of?
Corporate America! After having Savvi and going back to work I see how my time at home with my family is much more valuable.
How Did This Year Feel?
Monumental! All the challenges and hard work were a little stressful, but I know that everything happens for a reason. A lot of great things happened this year that overshadowed the not so good things. As I enter 2016 I am more focused and dedicated than ever to being a successful consultant to others and continue using my creative gifts to spread a positive message to the world.
